Its raining today. I actually like it when it rains, I look forward to the rain every summer when we go back to Canada on vacation. It makes everything fresh and clean. I like big, fat, booming thunderstorms, too. Without, of course, high winds and tornadoes. You can keep those!
Rain in California is so much different than the rain I'm used to in Canada. I know that sounds weird, but it just is. First of all, it rains the most at the wrong time of year here. Which, by the way, I think is awesome. It rains all winter in California, from November to April. Then.... no more rain! Since I've moved here, I've never had to cancel a summer picnic. I've never had to put things off for another day or worry about carrying an umbrella for those 7 months. The power (aka hydro) doesn't go out, I'm not jolted out of bed by a sudden loud crack of thunder, trips to the beach aren't ruined by a storm. Its great!
What's not great is that from November to April, it does nothing BUT rain. Especially THIS year. And its not an exciting rain, or storm or anything. Its just drizzle. Constant drizzle.
But! I'm an optimist! So how do you put a positive spin on this 5 month drizzle?? Two things:
1. I don't have to shovel it!
2. It makes everything green again.
Works for me!!!!!
Have a soggy day!
